Would it be difficult to supply visitors with bar code capture
devices, that they can use to 'collect' specimens whilst visiting and
then when they return the device a set of links is emailed to them?
or some sort of RFID reader they could carry round and use to 'gather'
links?
so every specimen has an RFID tag
and the visitor loans something like this:
