I've used Toon Boom a little, seems fine to me, but I'm not sure if it does
onion skinning. I got the express version for free on a mac magazine a while
back.

Subject: stop frame animation packages
Hello all
I would be grateful if you could recommend any stop motion animation
software that is robust and not too pricey per licence and has enough
features to do decent stop frame animation e.g. onion skinning etc. I've
used Digital Blue software and MonkeyJam but wondered if anyone would like
to sing the praises of other programmes that are good. We have some budget
to spend on it so it doesn't need to be free, in fact, in my experience free
ones are ok as a starting point but to do anything of high quality, for
exhibition, as we want to, you need to spend a little bit of cash. Any
suggestions would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
