Free ICT health check visits for London museums still available
Closing deadline for applications: Wednesday 7th January 2009
MLA London and the London Museums Hub are working in partnership to
support and promote London's museums to ensure that the sector's unique
cultural, knowledge and learning resources are made accessible for the
benefit of all Londoners and contribute to London's status as a world
class city.
MLA London is pleased to offer 12 - 15 free ICT healthcheck
consultancies to London's museums, funded by the London Museums Hub,
through the Renaissance London programme. The ICT healthchecks will be
carried out by Lasa, London Advice Services Alliance*, a charity which
delivers innovative ICT (information and communications technology)
services, ICT (information and communications technology) and advice to
clients from the voluntary and statutory sectors.
Each healthcheck consultancy will involve 2-3 days of expert assessment
of your current and future use of ICT. These will help to determine how
ICT is helping or hindering your work to achieve your organisation's
goals and deliver an effective ICT strategy for your museum.
Each healthcheck includes an onsite visit for up to one day from Lasa's
expert staff to discuss your organisations work, and to discuss your
plans for future development and how ICT can help realise them. An
audit of your current computer network , ICT support and staff ICT
knowledge. A concise report containing; short, medium and longer term
recommendations to support your IT planning, strategy development and
staff training programme. A follow up meeting of approximately half a
day to go through the report and sign off the project.
Healthchecks must be completed by the end of March 2009 so the turn
around for applications is short. The application form is therefore
very straightforward and only two sides of A4 long. Please submit your
completed application forms to Yvette Shepherd at MLA London by 12 noon
on Wednesday 7th January 2009 at [log in to unmask]
Due to the short application deadline, please contact Yvette if you
would like to discuss an extension to enable you to apply.
