I have just come across the following Wiley-Blackwell policies on
self-archiving/ open access.
Policy
(http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/aboutus/open_access_options.html)
OnlineOpen
(http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/authorresources/onlineopen.html?)
NIH mandate (http://eu.wiley.com/WileyCDA/Section/id-321171.html)
A quick glance looks like that are leaning towards paid option only, but
I will try and chase this up with them, particularly taking into account
articles prior to their merger.
I will process these and generate an entry for RoMEO as soon as
possible, please bear with us, as it may take some time to have all of
the journal titles display the correct information.

Hello
In the past Blackwell have granted us permission to include author
versions of chapters from their books in our repository. However our
recent requests for permission from Blackwell relating to such items
have been refused, which is in line with Wiley's policy. One of the
items we were seeking permission for was published in 1984, well before
the merger.
I'm not sure if this is a deliberate change, or simply confusion
resulting from there being a central source for permissions managing two
distinctly different policies. Unfortunately for both repositories and
authors a no is a no, regardless of the reasoning behind it.
I have also asked Wiley-Blackwell if there is a policy relating to items
in repositories, but so far my requests remain unanswered.

Hi Colin,
I have actually asked this very question of Wiley-Blackwell since the
merger as I was very concerned about any new copyright position. I was
told at the time (just after the merger happened) that the individual
conditions still applied (i.e. one set for Wiley and one set for
Blackwell) but in my opinion, that's extremely confusing, and quite
probably unworkable from the repository management point of view. So I'm
not aware of any formal annoucement, but would add my voice to those
calling for one.
Best wishes,
Sarah

[Apologies for cross-posting]
Have there been any calls for Wiley-Blackwell to announce a joint policy
on open access archiving since their merger? Is there anyone from
Wiley-Blackwell on this list that can answer?
As most people will be aware, before merging with Blackwell, Wiley did
not allow archiving of the author's final accepted draft manuscript in
institutional repositories. Blackwell, on the other hand, did. There is
not yet a joint listing on Sherpa-Romeo, and I'm not aware of any other
formal announcement. If and when a new policy is announced,
clarification on what is allowed regarding newly deposited papers that
have a publication date prior to the merger would also be needed.
