Thought this post might be of interest to some in the disability research sector (however 
its got a short deadline remaining - 15th Dec.):

Researcher/Senior Researcher, Centre for Disability, Law and Policy, A Baseline Study on 
Disability in Ireland.

As part of its Research Plan, the Centre for Disability Law and Policy intends producing a 
major Baseline Study on disability in Ireland.  http://www.nuigalway.ie/cdlp
 
Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified applicants for the position of 
Researcher/Senior Researcher with the Centre for Disability Law and Policy at the 
National University of Ireland, Galway.
 
The main task of the post holder will be to research and publish the Baseline Study on 
Disability in Ireland.  Work is already underway in providing the parameters for the 
Study.  The research will entail a detailed examination of the fields covered in the 
Government’s National Disability Strategy (transport, education, employment, etc.) which 
will lay the basis for future research in measuring progress and identifying challenges.
The duration of this post will be for a maximum contract period of 24 months ending in 
January 2011, with the possibility of an extension.  The successful applicant will be 
invited to take up the post in February 2009.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should have a doctoral degree in any of the major fields relevant to the 
research (public policy analysis, law, sociology, economics) or equivalent experience in 
public policy analysis and preferably in the disability field.  S/he should possess a proven 
research capacity, especially in public policy analysis and preferably in the disability field.
 
Salary scale: €40,578 - €68,058 per annum commensurate with qualifications and 
experience.
