It may be that one of the alternatives has mouse (or other) alternative
input (i.e. a USB port)? Has the Kindle?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-book_reader If there is one based on linux,
then this would....
To be honest, your client would probably be better off buying a laptop -
this is much more flexible for providing alternative input by the looks of
it. If they just want to use it for reading, then SAW and a USB switch
cable are all you need to turn it into an accessible e-book reader.
I thought I'd uploaded some demo SAW grids to the ACT website a while back,
but can only find: http://www.actwmids.nhs.uk/EC/resources/ebooks . I'll
have them somewhere though and they aren't hard to make.
It would be great if someone setup the EEEpc with an ebook reader and switch
input software ( I think AbilityNet are going down this line, David?)...

I was interested in this thought and found it has a USB charger but the
touch screen is the main input method and the controls on the front of the
casing http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/navigate.do?pPageID=1576 or
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/rd-reader-ebook/prs-505
The iLiad and iRex Reader 1000 have a Stylus and USB cable for charging as
well.
Best wishes E.A.

Subject: Sony reader ebook
Hi,
I suspect I know the answer to this but would value anyone's input/knowledge
which may help me answer the question.
I was approached yesterday by one of our patients who is severely disabled
with MS. He has no limb function and operates his EC using his chin via a
Dudley bead switch and computer via Smartnav. He said he and his wife had
seen the Sony 'reader ebook' and wondered if we could help him use one if he
chose to purchase it. Initially I said the answer would most likely be no
but I thought I may ask others who may have already sorted something?
If you are not familiar with the Sony ebook here is a link which may help.

Thanks
