I've been trying to find websites that have done a round up of interesting
assistive tech products released in 2008. While most of the media seems
obsessed with producing these types of' lists at this time of the year, as
far as I can tell there's nothing out there about new or interesting
assistive tech developments that occured this year.
As no-one seems to be doing this, I'd like to place a page on my site that
gives a summary of interesting assistive tech developments that occured in
2008. I run a self-funded website that aims to provide independent
information about (hopefully) interesting developments in assistive-tech,
mostly in the context of education or employment.
If anyone knows of a site that's already done this, let me know and I'll
just provide a link. Otherwise, I'd be grateful if anyone still checking
this list over the holiday period could suggest any assistive technology
products that they consider to be important that either became available in
2008 or had significant updates to previous versions. If you give the
product name, website or other contact details and a summary of why you
think it is important, I can basically cut and paste your suggestions into a
page that others might find useful. Obviously I'll credit you by name unless
you prefer me not to. If you have a commercial interest in the product I'd
be grateful if you could declare this information.
I'm not anticipating a huge response to this request at this time of year,
so I suppose it'll be ok just to mail suggestions directly to the list? What
do others think?
