Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
Senior Statistician
Band 7 (£29,091 - £38,352), 37½ hours
The Health Research Design Service (RDS) North West provides support to NHS clinicians preparing NIHR grant applications. These applications fund clinical trials and other high quality research of direct relevance for patient and NHS service benefits. The statistical component of the RDS is provided jointly with the Universities of Salford, Liverpool and Lancaster. We are looking to appoint a Senior Statistician, based within the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust statistics unit, to extend the support available in Greater Manchester.
Salford Royal has strong research themes in diverse fields including neuroscience, dermatology and gastrointestinal sciences. In addition to on-site research, the statistics group currently provides a service to the Primary Care Trusts and Children's Hospitals in Greater Manchester, and has close links with the University of Manchester Biostatistics Group. There is scope and encouragement to develop methodological research interests associated with these themes, although this is not a requirement of the post.
With a postgraduate qualification in Statistics, you will have experience in providing medical statistics consultancy, excellent communication skills and past success in grant application and peer-reviewed publication.
