that would be very conspicuous and not at all what
wheelchairs are intended for and I don't think
there is spare room on buses

Would it not be possible to provide a folding
wheelchair on the bus that can
be put in the wheelchair space when required? This
could be the seating
provision for this lady. This could easily be wiped
clean (or have some
padding on it?) and would save the other seats in
the bus. A cheapish
wheelchair would not be excessively expensive.
Perhaps shoe could provide
one herself if cost was an issue.

I just thought of another solution. Make a tote
bag that she can put an
adult diaper in and make it into a seat cushion.
It is zippered. One
side of the tote bag has a appropiately sized panel
of waterproof mesh to
allow urine to pass through easily and the rest of
the tote bag is
plasticized to contain the wet diaper and any
excess urine. Carry the tote
bag by the handle and she carries everything,
including any excess urine,
out of the bus without embarrassment or anyone not
in the know realise what
just happened. She can dispose of the diaper in a
toilet facility, clean
up and replace with a fresh diaper. The bus
operator should still carry a
supply of free diapers to accommodate this lady's
disability as she will
need one when she reboards the bus. It is a very
cheap and practical
solution the bus operator should be proud of as a
sympathetic company in
accommodating people with disabilities.
