As a follow up, it seems that this is indeed going to be the officially
correct method, the supporter of "per CPU" rather than "per core"
publishing seems to be getting persuaded :) One other thing to note is
that if you just take the figure from the spec web site you probably
don't get a very good measure; see this goc wiki page:
