Hi Norbert,
the B-matrix indicates which connections you want to modulate to explain
differences between evoked responses. If you select elements on the
diagonal of the B-matrix, you enable DCM to change the way a population
responds to a stimulus, between conditions. The motivation for this, and
the way it works, is described in Kiebel et al., (2007), Neuroimage:
