Publication Design/Sub-Editor/Journalist Lecturer
£29,704 - £38,757 per annum
37 hours per week
A journalist with current and relevant experience in design is
required to teach across a number of journalism degrees. You should be
an experienced journalist with strong design, page layout and subbing
skills in both newspapers and magazines. You should also be able to
use the latest industry software packages.
The successful applicant will teach on units relating to desktop
publishing and must have sound knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe
Photoshop and Quark Xpress. You will have a solid knowledge of In
Design but will also be trained in Quark and have strong photoshop and
editing skills.
You will have a first degree and preferably one year's teaching
experience at higher education level.
You will be able to communicate effectively and work well within a
team, contributing to new development within the journalism degrees in
the Media Writing Programme Group. You will be well organised and able
to contribute to the effective running of the course.
