Have you tried your local Sites and Monuments/Historic Environment Records
in the County planning office, or is there a 'Local Studies' section in your
library? It's some way to go but English Heritage at Swindon at the national
monuments Record may have something. See their website for details.

Hi i am looking for any photos of a WW2 dummy
airfield, location , Gumber farm in West Sussex, decoy airfield for
Tangmere. A wellington bomber crashed there, only the tail gunner
a night fighter all so crashed,, there must be some photos somewhere, any
to where they may be, long shot i know. History club !!. One of the R.A.F.
personnel posted there was a Harold Sykes, any clues ?, I do have some
photos, but its the ones of the crashed planes that i am looking for,
pointers if any !!.
