We'd like to double-check the number of dummy scans (discarded
acquisitions prior to the recorded volumes) that were acquired using a
particular sequence with our Siemens Tim Trio, ideally by checking
values in the DICOM header. For one sequence, the sequence itself was
lost in a scanner computer incident during an upgrade.
It seems like the number of dummy scans should be explicitly noted in
the header, but it isn't clear which of the many fields we should be
looking at -- does anyone know how do this?
Looking at our header information, there is an entry, "IMAGE NUM 4"
which seems like it might be the number of dummy acquisitions.
Alternatively, if we subtract the "Study Time" field from the "Series
Time" field and divide by the TR we get about 4, but not exactly....
Any help would be much appreciated...
