Hello there
A bit of an odd request - sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm
afraid I've got into a muddle about Darwin Year:
I have a participative arts project that could have worldwide reach,
that uses evolutionary theories and is closely related to the work of
Charles Darwin. Is there anyone out there funding Darwin Year
activities that come from independent sources i.e. those not already
signed up by Darwin Year HQ? This activity will be going live in
early January so if you're sitting there with a pot of cash and are
looking for novel ideas, do get in touch. You could give me the
funding and support I need to enable this project to reach its full
potential - and I could put the Darwin Year badge on my project.
By the way, I'm a sound artist, engineer (acoustics and robotics) and
exhibit maker, with some expertise in artificial evolutionary
algorithms. Although I've drifted away from the formal science
communication circuit over the last few years (hence the muddle), I
continue to create science-based projects that aim to capture
people's imagination. Anyone who's been to a recent London Dorkbot
may have seen my stuff. You can also see some examples of my work
here: www.spacedog.biz.
Thanks
Sarah
