Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to conduct
research on the chemistry of the upper atmosphere and space. The location
of the position will be at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Hanscom
AFB located in Bedford, MA. The research focus is on the analysis of NASA
and ESA satellite data of infrared emissions in the upper atmosphere and
modeling of the chemical processes involved. The project includes
collaboration with scientists from AFRL, NASA and ESA. The position is
expected to have a term of at least one year, with possibility of a second year
based on projected funding levels.
Requirements: Applicants with a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Atmospheric
Sciences, Physics or a related discipline are encouraged to apply. Experience
with molecular spectroscopy and/or atmospheric retrievals, as well as
programming experience would be useful. Background in quantum chemical
calculations would be helpful, but is not necessary. The candidate must be a
US citizen.
