Research Associate/Fellow vacancy (full-time) We wish to recruit an experienced researcher for a research study funded by the NHS National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment programme. This study aims to identify and provide guidance on the optimum ways to develop and modify existing health promotion interventions in order to best meet the needs of minority ethnic groups in the UK. The study will be led by the University of Edinburgh (Professors A Sheikh and R Bhopal), with support from experts in the field of health promotion & ethnicity from the Universities of Heriot Watt (Dr G Netto), Newcastle (Professor M White and M Deverill) & De Montfort (Professor M Johnson).
You will have a degree in a health-related discipline such as epidemiology/statistics, psychology or a related discipline, along with a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in systematic review and qualitative research methods. You will be supported by a part-time Research Fellow who will help co-ordinate the review and a part-time Research Secretary.
This post is fixed term and will run for the duration of the study until September 2010 starting on 1st December 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter. The deadline for applications is 20 November 2008.
