Hi,
Like you, I can border on slightly obssessive when it comes to copyright
and heart does tend to sink a little whenever I see a message like that.
I do try to contact the journal in question in these cases, but as was
demonstrated to me just yesterday, this can throw up a whole can of
worms. For example, I was checking copyright for a journal that is
published by a major publisher on behalf of a small university press.
RoMEO says one thing (in our favour - always a bonus!) but the
university has responded categorically no to my query.
I'm very glad you raised this, as I was actually going to do so myself!
Best wishes,
Sarah

Hi
Perhaps a slightly naive question as I become ever more obsessed with
copyright and the time it might take us to decipher individual journal
policies on self-archiving but publisher results from RoMEO often
include in the conditions something like:
* Some journals have separate policies, please check with each
journal directly
How are people approaching this issue? Do you in fact approach every
journal piecemeal or just hope for the best?!
Thanks
