Dear colleagues
Many apologies for contacting you out of the blue. I would be very
grateful if you could alert potentially relevant people to the following
employment opportunity.
Cumbria Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (a specialist learning
disability and mental health trust) is currently advertising for a joint
consultant psychiatry/senior lecturer post in learning disabilities,
with the successful applicant spending 3 days a week doing clinical work
and 2 days a week doing academic research work with Eric and I and other
colleagues in the new School of Health and Medicine at Lancaster
University. I think this is an exciting opportunity for someone who
wants to develop their research and clinical careers in a supportive
environment (this is one of a series of joint posts that Cumbria
Partnership NHS Trust are establishing with Lancaster University) and in
a beautiful part of the country.
The post has been advertised in the BMJ (see weblink below) and the
closing date is 23rd November, with the opportunity for informal visits
in advance of this closing date. I'm also more than happy for people to
contact me if they want to talk more informally about the research side
of the post.

I think these opportunities are comparatively rare, and I really hope we
can find a good field.
Best wishes
Chris
