The word is intermeshed with other words such as
"anarchism", "revolution", "sedition" and "conspiracy".
The talk will describe, in the evolving context of the anticolonial
movements in India, the implications of the use
of these words by British colonial authorities as well as
by different sections of nationalists. The talk will also
discuss the more recent uses of the word "terrorism" in
postcolonial India in the contemporary global context.
