The Parliamentary Archives provides records management and archives services to the House of Commons and House of Lords. Our team, based in the Palace of Westminster, is expanding, and these posts offer an excellent opportunity to participate in almost every aspect of the records life-cycle and to work with both paper and digital records.
We are looking for two experienced records managers with a strong track record in managing processes and staff, to take forward the parliamentary records management programme to meet the business needs of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the challenges of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation and electronic record keeping.
You will provide expert advice and support to the administrations of both Houses on records management issues including to the programme board currently considering the options for managing parliamentary records electronically. You will promote best practice in records management at all levels and oversee e-delivery of records management training and guidance to staff.
You should have proven experience of managing records management programmes; practical knowledge of the issues surrounding electronic document and records management systems; excellent communication and influencing skills; experience of managing and developing staff and experience of delivering results on time.
