Yes you are right I was just too lazy to check and was getting confused
since we did subsequently setup *.vo.gridpp.ac.uk for other VOs:
https://voms.gridpp.ac.uk:8443/vomses/. * being gridpp would have been a
pretty cumbersome VO name!

This being the case I really don't understand how enabling a new VO with
the same characteristics as other VOs leads to a situation where the
information system works for all but one VO. But then gLite is not
always logical.

Er, the gridpp VO we support at Brunel is an old style one, not DNS -

No (was many years ago though!) - the entry for it at
http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/GridPP_approved_VOs#GridPP_VOMS_server_VOs
is what we're currently using.
I know that for MICE several sites, me included, forgot to create a
batch
queue for the VO to submit to... :(
