There are just a couple of places left on OCSLD's online course on
Engaging Learning with Social Software, which runs 5 November - 5 December
2008.
Social software such as Facebook, Myspace, Flickr and Blogger as well as
the collaboratively constructed and published information found on
Wikipedia are widely used by learners. This course focuses on enhancing
teaching and learning by harnessing the potential of social software tools
for interactivity and engagement and their incorporation in authentic
learning activities. With active participation and collaboration with use
of the software tools you will leave the course with ideas for their
integration into online and blended coursework.
This short course aims to:
* Support the unpacking of the issues, including contested issues, around
embedding social software in the learning environment
* Help you identify any changes in your practice required in order to
incorporate social software in engaging learning activities.
* Provide opportunities to experience first hand collaborative engagement
with social software as you develop learning activities appropriate to
your field of teaching and begin to consider appropriate evaluation
strategies.
