Hmmm....
To me (and this is just my interpretation) a silo is a self-contained,
and isolated, container for /stuff/ (be it grain, rockets, or eprints).
.. but I can sort-of understand the idea that something is a silo
because it only contains a particular type of stuff (eg: a grain silo)
