2) SOAS is looking for an experienced Blackboard developer/administrator, to work on a short-term contract basis (approx 3 months) starting as soon as possible, to set up and customise a new organisational area, and associated module areas, on our shared Blackboard implementation (the Bloomsbury Learning Environment, see wwww.bloomsbury.ac.uk <https://webmail.rvc.ac.uk/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://wwww.bloomsbury.ac.uk/> ). The new area will need to form a cohesive learning environment, with a strong identity, for our distance learning students, many of whom are based in areas of poor internet-connectivity. Awareness of the issues affecting students based in developing countries would be an advantage, but provision to include interfaces with new technologies and features also needs to be incorporated. The individual must be able work individually without supervision, according to agreed deliverables and deadlines, as they may be based away from the rest of the project team.
