Thanks for your comments John. I took my computer home and followed
your suggestion by emptying all the files and folders from the working
directory (there were only the ones required for the MoAE) and then
the file specification worked fine. So I recopied all the files and
folders back to the working directory and it still worked! I think
maybe the problem was solved by restarting my computer when I took it
home. Perhaps some process was interfering with SPM/Matlab's file
selector? But I appreciate the help you offered.
