RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College,
London, UK
We would like to invite applications for a Neuroimaging Research Associate
post to study the structural and functional neuroimaging correlates of
impulsivity and reinforcement related behaviours, with a particular emphasis
on methodological aspects of neuroimaging data analysis including imaging
genetics as well as project coordination and management aspects. The project
is funded by the European Union Framework 6 Project, IMAGEN
(http://www.imagen-europe.com).
Successful candidates will have a first degree in Psychology (or a related
Neuroscience degree) and will preferably have a recent relevant PhD. A high
level of proficiency in fMRI and knowledge of Statistical Parametric Mapping
(SPM), Matlab and UNIX are desirable. Relevant experience with VBM or DTI
data analysis and the imaging genetics approach will be an advantage.
Further, good management skills and interpersonal skills as well as an
excellent academic record are essential.
The principal responsibilities of the neuroimaging research associate will
be: 1) analysing of functional and structural MRI data 2) conducting and
supervision of a structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
assessment battery as well as a neuropsychological assessment battery in
adolescent participants and parents. The adolescent participants will be
identified by a school-based community recruitment team, with which the
neuroimaging research associate will closely cooperate. The neuroimaging
research associate will be assisted by the support of a multidisciplinary
team of researchers and clinicians studying the neural mechanisms of
reinforcement related behaviours within the Centre of Neuroimaging Sciences
and the MRC-SGDP Centre at the Institute of Psychiatry.
