CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
As part of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology's commitment to encouraging and supporting coaching psychology research, we will be presenting a Research Award in 2008.
The winner of the SGCP award in recognition for completion of a distinguished research project in coaching psychology will receive £200 and an invitation to attend the first day of the SGCP conference (17th December 2008). The winner will have the opportunity to present their research.
The recipient of this award is likely to be a member of the SGCP who is eligible for student status of the BPS or is currently, or has been within the last two years on an undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral programme of study.
Nominations for this award are made by the person who has completed the research project. Please note, a recipient of this award cannot be nominated for the research award again until 3 years have passed.
The award will be made to the student submitting a project outline (past, or present) which, in the opinion of the panel of academic and practitioner judges, makes the most valuable contribution to the field of coaching psychology in the 21st century. In the case of current projects, these must have commenced and have at least preliminary findings. Innovation will be considered along with scientific rigour in the conception, design and analysis of the study.
Submissions should consist of a succinct summary of the project (approximately 2,000 words) with a clear indication of what has been achieved. If required, the judges may later ask for data to substantiate your findings. You should also include an explanation of why the project is worthy of consideration. At the top of your submission please give contact details for you and your supervisor for the project.
The project must represent the independent work of the student and be accompanied by a letter of support, and confirmation that it is the student's own work, from the supervisor.
The presentation of the awards will take place at the SGCP Annual Conference. All students should ensure that they are able to attend the conference if successful.
Closing date for submissions is 17th October 2008. Winners will be notified by mid November. Submissions should be sent to: Helen Barnett, ([log in to unmask]).
