Programme Officer JISC Collections
Salary: £28,000 to £32,800 depending on experience
Based in: Central London
JISC Collections negotiates agreements for and acquires online content
to support education and research. The key ambition in establishing
JISC Collections is to widen accessibility to online resources, to
save the academic sector time and money, and to improve management of
licensing by the sector.
JISC Collections is undertaking a new and innovative project in
association with the JISC to make research outputs of UK Universities
openly available online and requires a programme manager to support
this project and ensure its successful delivery.
You will be required to:
* Scope the work to be undertaken and identify the research
outputs to be included.
* Obtains permissions from rights holders and document all
permissions received along with any conditions attached to such
permissions.
* Support the project Steering Group and Programme through the
preparation of meetings, papers etc as required.
* Help to develop relationships with a range of stakeholders such
as publishers and educational bodies to ensure the successful
completion of this project and lay the foundations of future work
* Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of scholarly
communications and the standards associated with the provision of
electronic information resources.
You will need an understanding of the issues related to digital
scholarly resources, such as licensing, rights clearance, technical
standards, electronic information provision and the wider scholarly
communications and publishing environment.
