[My apologies to members - the correct date for the autumn MCG meeting is
Wednesday November 19 - Jon Pratty]
Coming up soon
This year's Autumn meeting and AGM of the Museums Computer Goup is being
held at the London Transport Museum, in the heart of Covent Garden, on
Wednesday, November 19.
We're planning a packed meeting with a number of speakers, databursts and -
of course - your chance to put your views about MCG (and vote for new and
current committee members, and a new Chair) at the Annual General Meeting.
The LT Museum has been through a sustained period of development over the
last few years, with a splendid new extension, many familar exhibits
redisplayed and lots of new things to see, too, so it promises to be a
fascinating day.
List regulars will be also be aware that during the last few months the
Museum has launched a new website with interesting interactive and
participatory features, allowing easy access to the online collection. Find
out more about this, and also other new projects and research across London,
on the day.
If you've been keeping an eye on the list, you'll know that we're also
undergoing change as a group, and we'll be keeping you up-to-date with these
moves at the meeting too.
More details soon on the MCG website and on this list
We'll be putting up an online booking form for the Autumn Meeting and AGM on
the MCG site in the next few days, so please keep an eye on the site (
<http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/> www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk).
Further programme details will be added to the site as we confirm speakers.
Book a Databurst slot
As ever, we're keen to hear what's going on in the sector, what you've just
built, and what you have launched. Databurst moments in the afternoon of the
meeting are short five or ten minute slots that can be really informative
and informal. If you want to get up and tell us about your project, please
contact Jon Pratty directly via email. ( <mailto:[log in to unmask]>
