EXPLORING eBOOKS - speculate, disseminate, evaluate!
JISC Regional Support Centre South West are delighted to announce a major seminar and exhibition on eBooks that will take place on Wednesday 5th November 2008 at Taunton School. With a line-up of excellent speakers and the major eBook suppliers in attendance this event is too good to miss!
Confirmed speakers include Caren Milloy and Anna Vernon from the JISC HE and FE eBook project teams respectively, Fiona Greig from University of Plymouth, Yeovil College and City of Bristol College. Our own Noel Davis, RSC-SW eLearning Advisor (Technical) will be taking us through the pros and cons of the eBook readers and there will be an exploration of some of the free eBooks currently on offer, together with information on creating your own e-Books cheaply and simply.
Exhibitors include JISC, eBrary, DawsonEra, MyiLibrary, NetLibrary and Waterstones.
We also have a FREE raffle on the day and Chandos Publishing and Facet Publishing have kindly donated books for this.
In addition there will be the opportunity to see some eBook readers and a chance to have some hands-on with the new technology that the RSC-SW has invested in.
All this for the amazing delegate price of £50 to include refreshments and lunch. To book your place please go to http://www.rsc-south-west.ac.uk and click on Events where you will find further details. I look forward to seeing you there!
Kind regards
Virginia
