Assistant Professor of Italian
The Department of French and Italian at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison invites nominations and applications for a
tenure-track position in Italian literature and culture of the Middle
Ages at the Assistant Professor level, starting 24 August 2009. We seek
candidates with native or near-native fluency in Italian, serious
scholarly promise, and proven commitment to excellence in teaching.
Candidates should be willing to teach occasional courses in English on
major figures of the medieval period and to participate fully in a
vibrant undergraduate and graduate program. Additional secondary
interests in Italian and Romance Philology are welcome.
Applications must include a letter of interest, CV, three letters of
recommendation, and a writing sample. The search committee will begin
its initial consideration of applications on December 1. To ensure full
consideration, applications must be received by December 17, 2008.
