Position: GIS Officer
Location: South West
Duration: 3 - 6 Months
Rate: £18-£20 ph
My Client is looking to recruit a GIS Officer to join their team.
The selected candidate would be required to undertake the following;
Capturing, editing and maintaining spatial and attribute data using ArcGIS
software, Acquisition of data, creation of new data themes and associated
GIS data administration, Supporting the development and management of
geospatial data on their corporate data servers, Dissemination of digital data
by exporting to various formats and completion of associated documentation,
Production of hard copy output in the form of maps/plans to support land
management and team functions; illustrate correspondence, reports and legal
transactions, Using analytical GIS tools to produce information and statistics
in response to requests for information, Liaison with customers regarding
specific project/task requirements and joining and contributing to Project
Teams as necessary and Demonstrating ArcGIS functionality with respect to
the Clients operational activities at workshops and presentations.
Skills and experience required:
Communication skills, Planning and organising work, Working in a team, Working
with minimum supervision, Use of GIS software, preferably ArcGIS (ArcPad, Arc
Publisher, ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo) to capture, analyse and disseminate
spatial data, Use and knowledge of OS digital products and Use and knowledge
of various geospatial digital formats
Qualifications:
ONC/HNC qualification in a relevant subject in GIS, Geography or Cartography
with at least 4 years recognised formal training.
