www.academia.edu, It is rough- but a good idea, would be very useful for government trying to liaise better with academics. Could Econ-Network give support by encouraging the author to improve the sight?

This is a very good idea in principle, but it's really, really rough right
now and launching it like this is just going to alienate people. It needs a
LOT of work.
I'll come back to it in a few months to see if it's working better yet. My
advice to list-members is not to bother right now and wait until they've
made it a lot more user-friendly.
