Dear Jan,
currently, all overlay options are hardcoded in spm_orthviews.m. Also,
the blobs are not really semi-transparent overlays, but are fused into
one RGB image in spm_orthviews.m. So, the short term answer is "no",
but you are right this would be a nice feature for an spm_orthviews
plugin.
