A full-time dissemination coordinator is required to support the work of the
UK-wide GEES Subject Centre, based at the University of Plymouth.
Responsibilities will include organisation and support of national
conference, seminars and workshops; collation of articles and preparation of
our bi-annual publication Planet; liaison with other Subject Centre staff
and colleagues elsewhere in the UK and overseas. The Subject Centre is a
major national and international hub in the exchange of knowledge on
learning and teaching across the three disciplines, and the post plays a key
role in contributing to its success.
It is anticipated that the post holder will have a degree, preferably in
Geography, Earth Science, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline,
and at least 3 years experience in higher education or in the work-place.
They should possess excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills.
The post holder should be prepared to travel occasionally and to have
flexible working hours. The position if funded full-time until 31st July
2009 and it is expected that additional funding will be forthcoming to
support this post in the longer term. Salary £29138 to £33780 pa- Grade 7.
