Sharing experience: development and design of collections access and
exhibition spaces
The London Museum Librarians and Archivists Group invites you to an
afternoon seminar and visit.

Eleanor Gawne, Head of Archive and Library at the National Maritime Museum
will talk about early stages of planning the Archive and Library Research
Centre in a new wing at the National Maritime Museum, for which major funding
was announced in April.
Christopher Mills, Head of Library, Art and Archives at the Royal Botanic
Gardens Kew will talk about his experience of directing Kew’s major projects -
the Herbarium & Library extension building and The Shirley Sherwood Gallery.
A cup of tea at 3.30 will be followed by:
A speaker from the Wellcome Collection introducing the thinking behind
its “unique mix of galleries, events, and meeting, reading and eating places”,
followed by a guided tour of this impressive building in central London which
houses three exhibitions, the world-famous Wellcome Library, a cafe,
bookshop, conference centre and members' club.
