Dear Mark
We use the Centaur BNP assay, with the following reference ranges provided
by Siemens.
Cut-off values for BNP (pg/mL) based on 95th percentile of reference
population
Age <45 45-54 55-64 65-74 75+
Males 29.4 32.8 38.8 67.6 121
Females 35.9 56.7 75.5 75.5 167
Combined 33.3 46.7 53.2 72.3 176
The Centaur assay is calibrated against the Biosite assay, so they may not
be interchangeable with the Abbott AxSym method.
Kind regards
Nigel

Subject: Age related reference intervals for BNP[Scanned]
This e-mail is covered by the disclaimer found at the end of the message.
Dear Colleagues
would anybody have a good reference for sex and age related reference
intervals for BNP (not NT pro BNP!)?
We currently use the Abbott AxSym BNP method and while the data in the kit
insert is quite comprehensive I was wondering what other BNP users quote?
Thank you in advance
