If you have a Mac, then I would suggest downloading and installing the
updates. If not, then some files will need to be compiled for your
particular type of computer. Here in the FIL, I only have access to certain
types of computer, so if you are trying to run SPM on a different one, then
it may not be already compiled.
If you have a compiler installed on your PC, then it should be
straightforward to fix the problem. In a regular terminal, you can change
directory to spm5/src and then type:
make install
If not, then if you say what sort of computer you are using then someone may
be able to provide the mex files that are needed.
Does anyone ever get a sense of deja vu on the mailing list? By the way, the
last email I sent about mex files not being compiled was slightly wrong. I
should have said "In MATLAB" rather than "In a regular terminal".
