Thanks for that Marianne. I just sent Mitch an extended email which I
thought I wouldn't burden the list group with. I'm always happy to help
at this end with accommodating visiting Spenserians.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Be sure to arrange a visit to Spenser's castle at Kilcolman. Check with
Andrew King on that -- he receives these e-mails so will give you
information on whom to contact. Otherwise, you can't get near the
place. Also, do arrange to see Raleigh's house at Youghal, where he may
have written the FQ, and the church where he may have married Elizabeth
Boyle. (It's not the only church that makes this claim.) The people
who organized the Spenser conference in Ireland in 1999 (I think) did a
wonderful job! Again, Andrew may have more information on that.

Subject: Travel Course
Dear Colleagues,
I'm in the process of writing a proposal for a January Interim travel
course on Spenser and Ireland through the Upper Midwest Association
for Intercultural Education (UMAIE). The course would be offered
during the interim of 2010.
I'm writing to see if anyone else has organized such a course. If so,
could you please offer me your sage advice and wisdom? I'd also like
to hear from others who have not organized such a class, but have made
the Spenser tour through Ireland. Could you tell me about places to
go, places to avoid, things to see, places to stay, etc.? Many thanks
in advance.
All the best,
Mitch Harris
