he had copied out, no doubt accurately, and is stirred by them again...
Poetry convinces not by argument but by the form it creates to carry its
content.
Condensation is more than half of composition. The rest is proper breathing
space, ease, grace.
No measure can be bad if it is a true accompaniment of the literal and
suggestive sense of the words.
The test of poetry is the range of pleasure it affords as sight, sound, and
intellection. This is its purpose as art.
