Judy,
I tried to answer your questions about the Eames chair and the prominent New Hampshire family of that name yesterday, but Jiscmail rejected it on the grounds that I'd already posted it. Not so!
The Eames chair is an ergonomic piece of furniture that molds itself around the human body sitting in it.
The Eames family now owns much of my hometown (Littleton, pop. 6,000), including the "Jax Junior" 2-movie cineplex where (or so the joke goes) _Gone with the Wind_ is being shown for the first time.
Oh, and the pronunciation is eemz.
