The Department of Applied Geology at Curtin is seeking to appoint an
Associate Lecturer or Lecturer to a three-year fixed-term position (with
potential for further appointment depending on performance and funding). The
post is based at Curtin’s main Bentley Campus, 6 km south of the centre of
Perth, and would be suitable for a recent PhD graduate, or a student
expecting to complete his or her PhD in the near future. Teaching
responsibilities will be primarily at first-year level and we encourage
persons with expertise in any area of geoscience to apply. Effective
communication skills are essential, and the successful applicant will be
expected to contribute to the Department’s research profile in his or her
area of expertise.
The Department of Applied Geology is one of Australia's largest geoscience
departments with over 25 teaching and research staff, 250 full-time
equivalent students, and a high-impact research program that spans many
areas of fundamental and applied geoscience. It is supported by world-class
facilities and equipment and has strong links to the local mineral and
