FRIENDLY REMINDER ON FILE NAMING, WEEKLY OFFLINE BACKUPS, MOVIES
##############################################################
(1) Offline hard disk backups are made for files that look like this:
/Users/meduser/fmri-data/080714MS/*.IMA
/Users/meduser/fmri-data/080714MS/zzNOTES
/Users/meduser/fmri-data/080714MS/zzSTIMNOTES
Don't gzip *.IMA files (they won't compress very much anyway).
Other files (e.g., *.IMA.gz, weirdly named directories, scans
put into sub-sub-directories, AFNI and NIFTI conversions, movies,
etc) are not backed up to save space. Don't put *.IMA files
in a movie subdirectory.
(2) Please respect the standard naming convention, which looks like this:
080714MS (or 080714MS2)
This has several functions:
--data protection
--ease of accessing/sorting/searching offline backups
--guarantee of offline backup
(3) HOWTO make cor/axi/sag mpg movies of a structural scan
--first convert *.IMA to AFNI with ima2brik
--start X11.app (grey xterm window, maybe cmd-n makes new window)
--in grey xterm window: cd ~/fmri-data/<YourSession>/zzAFNI
--mri2mpg scan02+orig.BRIK (or whichever scan is structural)
--mpg movies are put into zzMPG (inside zzAFNI)
