3-year Home/EU PhD Biostatistics CASE Studentship (funded by BBSRC in
partnership with Unilever)
Professor Sylvia Richardson has one 3-year Case studentship funded by
the BBSRC and Unilever as part of collaboration between Unilever and the
Biostatistics group in the department of Epidemiology and Public Health
to start in 2008. The successful candidate will be strongly motivated
and capable of independent work and will have a degree in Statistics,
Mathematics, Physics or a related subject with application to Health
research and preferably an MSc in a related area or equivalent
experience. Owing to funding restrictions, applications from non-Home/EU
candidates cannot be considered. Non-UK applicants will be eligible for
fees only. The research title for the project is: Application of
Bayesian methods for Biomarker Evaluation. For more details on the

The student will be based in the Biostatistics group of the Department
of Epidemiology & Public Health. All students will belong to the
Graduate School of Life Sciences and Medicine which provides a full
programme of training in research and transferable skills.
