Vacancy: Postdoctoral Modeler
Position description
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic scientist of any disciplinary
background, experienced in the field of modeling. This postdoctoral researcher
will lead a project aiming at the development of a dynamic population model
for patients with rheumatoid arthritis as well as ankylosing spondylitis in the
Netherlands. Describing disease progression, appraising economic evaluations
of disease treatments, and developing future scenario analyses are integral
parts of the advanced modeling study. The work will also involve project
management, longitudinal data-analyses of existing clinical databases,
advanced modeling and the dissemination of project results to a wide audience
of scientists, policy makers and the private sector. The modeler will
extensively collaborate with the larger project team involving other scientists,
medical experts, and representatives from the private sector.
Qualifications and Experience
- PhD degree
- Experience with mathematical/simulation modeling including
programming such models
- Ability to analyze data sets using a range of statistical techniques,
including longitudinal data analyses and missing data imputation
- Familiar with project management and reporting
- Ability to write scientific publications and present scientific work to a
wide audience
- Good communication skills and an ability to work with different
stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment

This postdoctoral position will be based at the Medical Technology Assessment
group of the faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, Maastricht
University, the Netherlands. Maastricht University (UM) the youngest
