Dear Marc
For the intel mac you should need matlab 2007a or later so 7.4 should
be fine. On the wiki the SPM5 instruction starts with:
"Since Revision 958 SPM5 include precompiled mex files for the intel
mac (called mexmaci). So now all you need to do, is to install the
latest Update."
Have you installed the updates?
