Science Museum
Marketing and PR Manager c. £45,000 p.a.
This is a fantastic opportunity to head the Marketing and Communications
team at one of Britain’s leading and most exciting visitor attractions.
With over 2.5 million visitors each year, the number one destination
for education groups and a new vision, the Science Museum is going places.
We have a talented and high achieving marketing and press office team and
are looking for someone with a strong background of persuading consumers
through all, or most of, the following channels: advertising, marketing, media
relations and online.
You will develop an in-depth understanding of our visitors and all our other
stakeholder groups. You must be adept at spotting and dealing with issues
which could impact on our reputation, and comfortable juggling a variety of
projects, competing demands and deadlines.
This job is varied, challenging and hugely rewarding. You’ll be planning our
strategy and campaigns, positioning our planned climate change gallery,
running programmes to build our IMAX sales, launching web initiatives,
producing market data, building effective working relationships with the media
and cementing our position as a fun day out and a great place to learn about
science.
A highly organised individual, you’ll be a strong project manager and great
team leader, able to effortlessly balance our commercial objectives with our
wider cultural mission. Naturally, you’ll have the ability to create and lead
compelling cross media campaigns which build profile, drive visitors and
improve our positioning.
Translating complex science into compelling propositions and evaluating
activity effectively are also essential to the role, as is your background of
getting the best out of media, marketing and PR agencies.
