medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Burial was 1496 and the collection was that of Sir Thomas Wriothesley,
Garter King of Arms 1505-34. I have just checked him in ODNB and, in fact,
he succeeded his father, John Writhe, as Garter (Garter 1485-1504)- so he
would seem to be very close to his source. I think we can rely on this one,
even if my own reading is suspect.
thank you Henk for making me check that.
Rosemary
