Dear all,
(with apologies for any cross-over messages)
This is your chance to take part in an online survey about virtual reference
in UK academic libraries. You'll also go in the draw to win £15 amazon.co.uk
vouchers and an iPod Touch.
If you work in an academic library, please do answer this survey whether you
know anything about this or not, as we hope the results will be of interest
to you.
We'll publish the results in mid-2009, at www.virtualenquiry.net.
We would like to hear about your library's experience with virtual
reference, or if you haven't used virtual reference, your opinions and
knowledge. For the purposes of this survey, we define 'virtual reference' as
using instant messaging, chat software, or more specialist software to allow
users to chat with library staff in real time. This excludes contact via
email or web forms.
The survey is run by the Virtual Enquiry research project group, which is
funded by the Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC) and supported by
Napier University and Carnegie College. It is open to staff in all UK
academic libraries.
We would really appreciate your help in responding to this survey, and hope
that the results of the project will be of interest to you in the future.
